A receipt problem became a bigger idea.
We felt firsthand how quickly carrying, sorting, and tracking receipts could become a job of its own. We built PKTD around a simpler idea: saving a receipt should feel as easy as taking a photo—and that idea is still growing.

Questions, answered
Is my receipt data private?
Yes. OCR runs on-device, and there's no sign-up. GPS and camera metadata are stripped before the processed image is saved. Payment-card and track fields in extracted receipt text are redacted on-device before that text is sent for AI parsing. This does not alter digits visible in the stored receipt image, and there's no third-party ad tracking. AI parsing is optional and off by default. When you consent, redacted extracted receipt text is sent to our secure server for processing; receipt images are not sent for AI parsing. iCloud sync, exports, and sharing are optional.
Does PKTD work for Canadian taxes?
Yes. With your consent, optional cloud AI can suggest GST, HST, PST, QST, supplier tax ID, province, and capital-asset fields from redacted receipt text for review. PKTD can flag meals under the usual 50% income-tax limitation; GST/HST input-tax-credit treatment is separate and fact-dependent. PDF and CSV records can be exported for CRA or professional review.
Does it track business mileage?
Yes. PKTD logs trip dates, destinations, business purpose, distance, and route details for review. Self-employed vehicle deductions generally use the business-use share of eligible vehicle costs; the CRA prescribed per-kilometre rate is primarily an employer-allowance reference, so confirm the method that applies to you.
What iPhone do I need?
PKTD runs on iPhone with iOS 26 or later. It's an iPhone app — there's no Android version.
How much does it cost?
You can scan three receipts free in total. A Pro subscription is required after the third scan. Eligible subscribers can get a one-month free trial; after that, Pro is CAD $14.99/month or $89.99/year. Apple handles billing and determines trial eligibility.
Is it available yet?

Do you sell my receipt data?
No — and architecturally we can't. Receipts stay on your iPhone (and your private iCloud if you turn sync on); our servers never store them. We have one revenue stream: subscriptions. See how we make money.
Does the AI see my receipt photos?
No. AI parsing is off until you enable it, and it sends extracted text only — never images — with card numbers redacted on your device first.
Does scanning work offline?
Yes for capture and reading: the camera and on-device OCR need no connection. Optional AI parsing and iCloud sync wait for one.
